Are Paper Routes Still Profitable?

First, how much money do you need to make? If you need thousands per month in PROFIT, you may be looking in the wrong area. Most paper routes will pay you via a 1099 and the gross amount will range from $100 - $1500 per pay period. Now, 20%-30% of that check will probably have to go to local and federal government for taxes. You must purchase your own supplies so subtract these expenses from your profit. Also, you have to provide the delivery vehicle, the fuel for the vehicle, and pay for all the necessary maintenance on the vehicle. Subtract all of these expenses from your profit.

With gas prices rising every week, you will make less and less profit if you use a car or any other gas powered vehicle to deliver your papers. To maximize your profit, you will need to walk or ride a bike to deliver your papers. Most routes are too big to walk or ride a bike so you must look into purchasing/using a car that gets really good gas mileage. Using your gas guzzling SUV to deliver newspapers is probably a bad idea.

In what neighborhood will you be delivering papers? This is a HUGE factor in determining how much money you will make. Talk to the current carrier to see how people pay and don't pay on the route. If the route has a high number of people who don't pay or pay late, this all will lower your profit! Never get a route with 10% or higher customers who pay late or don't pay at all. Your distribution company will NOT cut these people off. You are basically buying the paper to GIVE the paper to the non-paying customers.

How valuable is your time? If you value your time any, then you must set a number of hours per week that you deem acceptable for delivering newspapers. If your time is not valuable and you can spend forever and a day outside delivering the papers, you may be able to trick yourself into believing you are making a profit. If your time is valuable, every hour spent on your paper route reduces your profit.

Most paper routes are NOT profitable. Talk to the current carrier if possible as this will give you the best idea of the profit of a particular route. NEVER believe the quote the paper distribution company gives you as they are NEVER going to tell you the amount of money you will make. If they do give you a number, cut 25%-50% off that number because you will NEVER get the number they quote you on your check. I am not sure why they lie, but they do. Oh, I do know why ... if you knew how much money you will not be making, you probably would not want that particular route!

Let me explain my thoughts of this title. I have been an online junkie since my first personal computer in 2002. Now granted I had a computer before then but it was a personal computer with the Internet. The online world has become a different breed. It seems as if everyone is looking for a "quick buck" and have forgotten about the connection between why and how. Why is an important question. Every " Why " is usually followed by a " How". For example, why in the world am I up writing in my blog ,how am I going to get people to read what I have to say? The law of attraction perhaps bought you this far and it is my hopes and prayers we become better friends each day you read it. If the smoke clears from the air and I am still there will you like what you see? Not form the computer screen but what is truly within me?

I understand that most people who come to the internet are wanting to find something. I want to know what is that something and how can I help? Do you look for friendship,laughter or support in your ventures? The truth of the truth comes down to the personal connection the core of the deal will always be the personal connection. Why You’re Kept In The Dark With Affiliate Marketing

Well, worry not my friend, it’s not your fault and it’s nothing you’re doing wrong! So many product owners are hiding behind unmeaningful statistics like ‘gravity’ in ClickBank.

Sure gravity tells an affiliate marketer if a product is selling or not, but it doesn’t indicate how well a product converted. Frankly I’m sick of hearing about some of these Internet Marketers that claim they have really high converting products of 15% and yet most of them won’t share with you how well they actually convert. Doesn’t that make you even slightly suspicious?

In fact, I think ClickBank should have conversion rates published as one of their standard metrics. Instead, what do they have? Gravity! It tells you how many unique affiliates have made a sale within an eight week period but doesn’t really tell you how much traffic the sales pages actually receives to sell that amount. Furthermore, it would be interesting to see how that traffic was driven to the sales page. Was it from email lists, social media, banner ads or PPC? After all, you’re aware that all traffic is not equal, aren’t you?

How the hell does anyone stand a chance of calculating whether investing in paid advertising is likely to return a positive return on investment? Some traffic going to the sales page is going to be a lot warmer than other traffic because they come from joint venture partners where the product owner’s list partners already have a relationship with that traffic and they have already done some pre selling, therefore by the time joint venture traffic arrives at the sales page it will be a lot more qualified than some traffic arriving from other sources on the web.

Furthermore, most forums and article sites make it awkward (at best) to post affiliate links. Sure, it’s possible but it certainly isn’t the free lunch that most product owners on ClickBank would have you believe.

To make things even more interesting for you, you need to calculate what the possible return on investment is going to be, especially when you’re choosing to buy traffic.

Google AdWords, banner advertising and solo ads can soon drain your wallet bone dry leaving you in a very sticky situation – quite possibly in the proverbial shit!

You’d think that Google would be holding seminars telling people how they can get the best out of their advertising campaigns but that is the domain of the Internet Marketing trainer cleaning up because the guys at Google don’t want to bother teaching everyone how to properly use AdWords. In fact, wouldn’t Google want big companies with big budgets being a bit ignorant of the real techniques? Most newbie marketers make the same mistakes that leave them feeling “beat up” by the system. It takes more than a good keyword to get a solid rate of return on your clicks. Here are 3 quick tips for the beginning Internet Marketer:

1. Don’t Throw Mud At The Wall 
Do your research on your keywords first. The last thing you want to do is set up hundreds of keywords hoping you’ll get some clicks which lead to sales. Remember that each time someone clicks on your ad, that is money out of your pocket so choose wisely. There are many ways to research effective keywords. Use a free keyword tool such as Wordtracker that will show you which keywords have the most amount of traffic. Do your research directly in Google and act as if you are the prospect. Your goal is to put yourself in the mind of the buyer and figure out what they are searching for and what stage of the buying process they are in. This way, you can target your audience accordingly with laser-focused keywords instead of going in “blind-eyed” hoping to get someone to bite.

2. Make It All Flow

Google is a system. The more intertwined all of your marketing parts are, the better your results will be. Make sure your ad copy and landing page (website) is an accurate reflection of your keywords. Google is all about relevancy. You’ll want your ad copy to have the keywords included directly in the ads and your landing page be relevant to your specific keywords. Separate your campaigns to reflect each target audience to be more organized.

3. Don’t Pay The “Stupid Tax” 

Most newbie internet marketers using pay per click (PPC) make the dreadful mistake of simply increasing their keyword bids to get higher on the results page. It’s no mystery as to why so many new marketers go broke very quickly. Pay per click (PPC) marketing is a science, but it’s also an art form. You’ll need to consistently analyze your efforts and pay close attention to your numbers. An easy way to constantly improve your efforts is to separate your goals into 3 distinct parts: Number of Impressions, Number of Clicks, and Number of Conversions. If you are struggling to fine tune your campaigns, work them in that order. Start with tweaking your best performing keywords to increase your impressions. More impressions simply mean more traffic. Once you have a good amount of impressions, you can now work on the amount of clicks you get. To increase your clicks, tweak your ad copy to be more relevant and/or more appealing to your target audience. Now that you have an increased flow of impressions and clicks, focus on your landing page. Does it deliver what your ad copy is promising? Make sure the landing page provides what the customer was looking for when he/she clicked on your ad.

Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing can get expensive very fast. Google, Yahoo and MSN will gladly eat away at your marketing funds if not given the appropriate respect. Don’t jump into it unless you know what you are doing. If you are just learning, start small and test until you see some initial results. Once you have a small campaign running effectively, then you can begin to expand them out.

I have been in the Internet Marketing Industry for about 7-8 years and never really followed any systems. I will they you that this has been a major mistake for me.

In today's world  we are surrounded  by words,objects,and emotional road blocks that we try in many ways to keep us from moving forward. The average person goes through about 75% or no' s and 20% or maybe's which only leave only 4.5% of yes's. If you notice I said 4.5% that is because there are still those yes's that are really NO's. I call these's no's the opposite of  positive.The reasons why these no's are the opposite is because we are always looking for yes in our lives.Most will tell you to go for no and that has it's place and it's time,but yes has always been a symbol of positive.

• You need to have a strong desire and motivation, and the commitment to do whatever is necessary to achieve your goal.
